Full comparison

01 / Why switch

Why teams move from Render.

  • Health-checked rollouts with one-click rollback.
  • Build cache for faster repeat builds.
  • Encrypted secrets, injected into containers at runtime.
  • Domain registration, transfer-in and a DNS editor in the same console.

02 / Feature matrix

03 / Honest take

When Render is the better choice.

Render and Deployxa cover similar ground: web services, workers, cron and databases from Git. Render is more mature on infrastructure-as-code and regions; Deployxa adds domain registration, a DNS editor and an AI Copilot in one console.

  • You describe infrastructure as code with Render Blueprints and want to keep that workflow.
  • You need managed Redis-compatible key-value stores or private services as first-class products.
  • You need region selection for data residency.
  • Your team is settled on Render and has no pain to fix.

04 / Migration

Move from Render in 4 steps.

Run Deployxa next to your current setup, check the result on its own URL, and only switch DNS once you are happy.

  • 01 /

    Install the CLI

    Install the Deployxa CLI and sign in.

    $ npm install -g @deployxa/cli && deployxa login

  • 02 /

    Map your services

    Each Render web service becomes a Deployxa project. Background workers and cron jobs move to the project jobs and cron settings.

  • 03 /

    Copy variables and data

    Push environment variables from .env.local and import a database dump into an attached PostgreSQL or MySQL database.

    $ deployxa env push

  • 04 /

    Deploy and switch DNS

    Deploy, confirm the release is healthy, then update your domain records to Deployxa.

    $ deployxa deploy

05 / FAQ

Questions and answers.

Does Deployxa support background worker tasks?

Yes. Background jobs and scheduled tasks are included from the Starter plan, with execution history and logs for cron jobs.

Is there an equivalent of render.yaml?

Deployxa detects build settings automatically and also reads a Dockerfile or Docker Compose file. There is no direct Blueprint import, so services are set up per project.

Are preview environments available?

Yes, on Pro and above. Pull requests get an isolated preview that is removed when the PR closes, and deployxa promote can ship the latest successful preview.

Do free apps sleep?

Free apps idle after 20 minutes without requests and wake on the next one, with a short cold start.

How long does it take to move from Render?

For a single app with environment variables and a custom domain, most of the work is copying variables and waiting for DNS to update. Databases add the time it takes to export and import your data.
