03 / Honest take

When Dokploy is the better choice.

Dokploy is a capable self-hosted platform for teams happy to run their own servers. Deployxa offers a similar Docker-based workflow as a managed service, so patching, proxies and certificates are handled for you.

  • You want to self-host on servers you control, with no platform fee.
  • You need Docker Swarm across several of your own nodes.
  • You want open-source tooling you can audit and extend.
  • You need database engines such as MongoDB or MariaDB on your own hardware.

04 / Migration

Move from Dokploy in 4 steps.

Run Deployxa next to your current setup, check the result on its own URL, and only switch DNS once you are happy.

05 / FAQ

Questions and answers.

Is Deployxa compatible with Docker Compose?

Yes, Deployxa builds standard docker-compose.yml files.

Can I still use my own server?

Yes. Besides Deployxa Cloud, you can connect your own VPS and route deploys to it. Enterprise also offers on-premise deployment.

Does Deployxa use Traefik too?

Yes. Traefik routes traffic and requests Let's Encrypt certificates, but it is configured and run for you.

How do rollbacks work?

Shortly after a deploy, the previous release is held on a warm standby so rollback is a traffic switch. Later, the earlier release is redeployed from its cached image.

How long does it take to move from Dokploy?

For a single app with environment variables and a custom domain, most of the work is copying variables and waiting for DNS to update. Databases add the time it takes to export and import your data.
