03 / Honest take
Railway and Deployxa both run containers from a Git push. The real differences are billing (usage-based versus fixed plans), the breadth of managed services Railway offers, and the domain and DNS tooling Deployxa builds in.
04 / Migration
Run Deployxa next to your current setup, check the result on its own URL, and only switch DNS once you are happy.
Install the Deployxa CLI and sign in.
$ npm install -g @deployxa/cli && deployxa login
Copy your Railway service variables into .env.local and push them, or set them one by one.
$ deployxa env set KEY value
Create a project with PostgreSQL or MySQL, then import a dump from your Railway database using the database transfer tools.
Connect the repository or deploy from the CLI, confirm the health check passes, then point your domain at Deployxa.
$ deployxa deploy
05 / FAQ
Yes. Projects can attach PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQLite. PostgreSQL databases can be snapshotted and restored from the Backups tab.
Yes. If a Dockerfile is present it is used as-is; otherwise the stack is detected and a build is generated for you.
Docker Compose files are supported, and each project can run background jobs and cron alongside the web process on paid plans.
Yes. The Free plan includes 3 projects with shared CPU and 512MB RAM. Free apps idle after 20 minutes without traffic and wake on the next request.
For a single app with environment variables and a custom domain, most of the work is copying variables and waiting for DNS to update. Databases add the time it takes to export and import your data.
